Before you start:

There are some things you can consider before you start the measurement:

  • Ensure that the measurements are done over your undergarments.
  • Don’t pull the tape measure too lightly - keep your tape measure level and close to your body.
  • For a better and accurate measurements, consider asking a loved one for help.

Ways of measuring:

Shoulders: From the tip of one shoulder to another, measure across your upper back. Try not to hunch; stand with your chin parallel to the floor and your shoulders back.

Chest: Relax your arms at sides above the bust at the armpits and keep the tape parallel to the floor. Ensure that you go all the way around your body by circling the tape around your back over your shoulder blades.

Bust:Keep your arms relaxed at sides while wearing the bra, and measure the fullest part of your bust. Keeping tape level with the floor, measure under your armpit and around your back in same location as the middle of your bra-line.

Under-bust:Measure all the way around your torso, immediately beneath your bust.

Waist:Take your measurement around the narrowest part of your torso at your natural waistline. Bend to one side to find your natural waistline. When you bend, there should be a change in crease. Mostly, it happens below your ribcage: that’s your natural waistline.(Don't worry if this seems higher than where you actually wear your pants and skirts). Keep the tape parallel to the floor as you measure all the way around your torso.

Hips:Measure around your body’s broadest part around your hips. That includes the fullest part of your backside, and should be just about where your legs meet your torso (this is approximately 8" below natural waistline).

Upper arm:Keep the tape around your biceps (the widest part of your upper arm) and bend it slightly at the elbow. By measuring this way, you’ll be able to easily bend your arms in the sleeves through the armholes of the garment.

Height:Keep your back to a wall and standing with your feet slightly apart, measure straight from the floor to the top of your head.
